Here’s the basics of a simple but fun game to try at a Special Event Station you’re running – if you can get a captive audience within earshot of the radio why not encourage them to win a prize by listening out for some key Amateur Radio phrases?
All you need is a list of regular phrases heard in a typical QSO, add them to a set of Bingo Cards (there are various online/random generators available) and encourage the public (or your club members) to tick-off the ones they hear. You’ll obviously need a “moderator” to tick-off those from a master list as the QSOs take place – and to compare their list with somebody who’s shouted: “HOUSE!” or “HAM!”…
With a few players and a cheap/fun prize it could be nice way to get people interested in the event, the communications and possibly the hobby.
